The Art of Being Forever

Vinay Ji March 15, 2026
The Art of Being Forever

The mind and time are deeply connected. Remove the concept of time and the mind dissolves. Meditation is the state in which that timelessness can be experienced continuously.

Struggle comes from entanglement with past and future. That entanglement is precisely what prevents you from living in the present.

What "forever" does

Believing "I am here forever" shifts perception from limitation to expansion. It breaks the conditioning of body and mind and frees you from psychological bondage.

There is no getting out and no running away — only awakening. True freedom does not come from escaping. It comes from breaking free of the mind's grip.

Forever is not about the physical body. It is about the continuity of consciousness. The mind draws boundaries with names, roles, and identities, but real freedom lies beyond them. Recognising this removes fear, removes anxiety, and removes the need to seek fulfilment outside yourself.

Faith and doubt coexist in the mind. Activating faith liberates; doubt conditions and limits. Choosing faith aligns you with your own nature and lets you rest in inner completeness, independent of circumstance.

The work is deconditioning: undoing the societal and psychological conditioning that keeps you from your natural state. The mind will resist. But stay rooted in the awareness of forever and you experience profound freedom and lasting peace.

Wherever you are, you are forever

The mind, conditioned by time and limitation, constantly seeks change. It shifts from place to place, relationship to relationship, situation to situation, convinced that happiness is somewhere else. The truth is simpler: wherever you are, you are forever.

A leaf, once detached from the tree, does not worry about where the wind will take it. It simply flows. Soaring in the air or resting on the ground, it is at peace. In the same way, when you break free of the mind's grip and its attachments, you stop resisting life and start being in the moment.

Thoughts are fish

Thoughts are like random fish in an ocean. Entertainment, not entanglement. There is no logic to them, no pattern. Chase them and you get tangled. See them as entertainment and they lose their grip.

The moment you detach from a thought — stop attaching meaning to it, stop labelling it, stop building a narrative around it — it settles on its own, the way a fish swims away when ignored. But if you stay disturbed, others will bring their fish too: their beliefs, their opinions, their fears, dumped into your water.

Peace comes when you stay detached and let thoughts pass without engagement. It is a conscious choice. You can attach to a thought or withdraw from it, and in that choice you gain control over the mental process. That realisation is what removes powerlessness, dependency, and unnecessary struggle.

"Let them be like this forever"

We are always trying to fix things — our job, our relationships, our family. We ask: when will this change?

Try the opposite. What if you shifted to: let them be like this forever?

  • Instead of "when will my children change?" — let them be like this forever.
  • Instead of trying to fix your spouse — let them be as they are forever.

The struggle disappears. Accepting things as they are, moment to moment, aligns you with the universe. Resistance drops, the need to control vanishes, and joy arises effortlessly.

When the ego dissolves, creativity flows naturally. Life becomes an effortless expression rather than a struggle. Whether you make art, make music, or simply live each moment fully, it happens without force. Consciousness itself is wisdom — it does not resist. It simply is.

Disidentifying with the body

Just as the lungs, liver, and kidneys are parts of you but not you, your thoughts and emotions are also not you. By externalising these attachments — I am not my body, I am not my thoughts — you reconnect with your true self: pure consciousness.

Whenever you feel restless or impatient, remind yourself: I am here forever. Anxiety and impatience dissolve.

Whether in a place, in a situation, or in silence, the word "forever" lets the mind settle. That is its power: it makes you non-reactive, calm, and centred.

This is how you transcend the restlessness of time and fully arrive in the present. The secret to peace is not changing things. It is realising that you don't need to.

Because you are forever.
